The Sun 3-7-08 18.43 UT

Bright and breezy today with fast moving clouds but plenty of opportunities for a view of the sun. Pete's new AR mentioned on the CN Solar Forum is definately still there as I can pick it up in monochrome images quite easily via the PST. The prom on the east limb is very faint and tall with fine details at higher magnification. Another prom on the south limb seems to be growing in size and may be eruptive.

New active region can be seen as bright spot
Possible eruptive prom forming on south limb

These two photos taken later at 18.43 UT - Top image shows eruptive prom on south limb in decline
